Russula supplied a water treatment plant in conjunction with the electrical and automation equipment for the Laminoir des Landes heavy plate mill. The project was divided into two delivery phases. Both phases involved the supply, installation supervision and commissioning of all its respective equipment according to the project schedule.
The water treatment plant was the first phase of the project that was delivered to LDL. Russula provided all the mechanical and electrical equipment, piping, installation supervision and commissioning support. All the piping and corresponding supports were prefabricated in Spain to save time during the installation. The water was distributed into the heavy plate mill via multiple consumption points: reheat furnace, descaler, cooling of the stand rolls and the cooling bed. For each of the circuits water enters the treatment plant at 40C, is cooled to 30C and returns to the plate mill.
Equipment | Flow (m3/hr) | Pressure (Bar) |
---|---|---|
Descaler (contact water) | 200 | 8.5 |
Rolling Mill (contact water) | 300 | 4.5 |
Furnace, hydraulic centrals, lubrication (non-contact water) | 700 | 5.0 |
Since the civil works for the water treatment plant was previously completed, Russula adapted the design to the existing civil structures. In addition, Russula supplied a prefabricated E-house, with the MCC and electrical cabinets mounted inside, which reduced significantly the assembly time on-site.
