Celsa Nervacero has chosen Mill Pulse® as its MES solution of choice for the SBQ and reinforcing steel mill in Valle de Trápaga, Biscay province of Spain. Mill Pulse® was designed by Russula specifically for the rolling process to manage and control production.
Mill Pulse® will replace a legacy Manufacturing Execution System currently in place. As part of the Celsa Group's broader digitalization roll-out to improve data integration, Celsa Nervacero will be the third plant that implements the Mill Pulse® Suite. Having three plants on the same MES platform will homogenize the production data and facilitate sharing of KPI metrics between plants.
Production Management and Scheduling, Delays Tracking, Roll Shop and Mill Setup modules are all included within the scope of supply. Dynamic dashboards for KPIs and a report builder that enhances user capabilities, will also be supplied.
Over a year ago, Russula supplied the Level 1 automation solution to the Celsa Nervacero rolling mill. Mill Pulse® seamlessly integrates with the rolling mill automation and the ERP system, SAP HANA/ASE.
The development and implementation phases will take approximately four to five months, after which an operational version of Mill Pulse® will be available remotely for the plant to review and train prior to the implementation. Commissioning, which includes an integration test, is scheduled before the summer of 2021.
Russula’s Mill Pulse® is running at the Celsa Atlantic plant in Laracha, Spain. The Mill Pulse® suite will also be installed in the new rolling mill at the Celsa France Bouucau-Tarnos steelworks this year after the commissioning.
