Many plants in South America are running Russula technology today. And with this new office we hope to retain customers improving services support on our client base.
Alexandre Schultz, the Managing Director of Russula Brazil
After more than twenty years of providing engineering solutions to the world’s largest producers in South America from the central office in Sao Paolo, Russula expands its business in Brazil by opening a second office in Volta Redonda (Rio de Janeiro). In the heart of the Rio- São Paulo axis, the city is an important industrial hub. "Our headquarters will continue to be in São Paulo, but by opening a new office in such a strategic location, we will be closer to our clients and also be able to attract talent more easily, as the area is highly specialized in the steel sector," explains Alexandre Schultz, the Managing Director of Russula Brazil. The Volta Redonda team will oversee the technical support for our clients: they will provide assistance for automation and drive projects in Brazil.
Over the more than two-decade trajectory in Brazil, Russula has implemented a total of 80+ projects in its three business areas: rolling mills, water solutions and digitalization for mayor companies such as Gerdau, Simec, CSN, ArcelorMittal, Votorantim, Novelis, among others. "Many plants in South America are running Russula technology today. And with this new office we hope to retain customers improving services support on our client base." says Alexandre.

In 2015 and 2017 Russula supplied a new 600,000 tpy combined bar and wire rod mill to Silat in Caucaia, now Gerdau Caucaia, northeastern Brazil. The greenfield installation showcased Russula’s capacity to improve plant layouts, simplifying daily operations and maintenance, and redesign equipment, such as Russula’s patented laying head design, which reduced power consumption, noise levels and component wear. Russula is currently carrying out a major electrical and automation overhaul of the continuous caster for CSN and is implementing the Mill Pulse industrial management system at Gerdau's plant in Charqueadas.
