Russula South America expands business into Paraguay

Vetorial, one of the largest independent pig iron producers in Brazil, awards Russula a contract to upgrade its rolling mill located in Villa Hayes, Paraguay. The multi-phase revamp will replace obsolete control equipment with the latest generation of totally integrated automation.

Bar mill upgrade replaces obsolete control system at Nucor Steel Kankakee

In the fall of 2016, Russula successfully completed the control system upgrade of the Nucor Steel Kankakee mill in Bourbonnais, Illinois, USA. The mill produces 700,000 tpy of rebar and merchant bar products, including rounds, flats and angles.

Big River Steel: First steel producer in the world to be LEED certified

During the grand opening ceremony on March 1st in Osceola, Arkansas, Big River Steel announced that it is the first steel production facility in the world to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified based on its environmental sustainability efforts and energy efficiency performance. LEED is the most widely used green building rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. Russula is proud to have contributed to this achievement by providing a water treatment complex that is both operationally efficient and eco-friendly.

Russula high-speed wire rod mill starts up at Silat

On February 3rd, 2017, after cold commissioning, technical specialists from Silat and Russula rolled the first wire rod in coil. Located in Fortaleza, Brazil, the new single-strand wire rod mill produces 5.5-16 mm wire rod and rebar in coils, complementing Silat’s current production capability of 8-32 mm straight reinforcing bar for a total capacity of 600,000 tpy. Russula supplied the complete rebar and wire rod mill.

Nucor Steel South Carolina grants Russula contract for drives upgrade

Located in Darlington, SC, Nucor Steel South Carolina has replaced thirteen stand drives of its bar mill number 2. Russula provided the electrical equipment and engineering and on-site services of installation, supervision and commissioning.
